Earl Thomas and the Seattle Seahawks’ Legion of Boom made a strong case as the NFL’s best secondary Sunday.

No. 29 and Co. intercepted New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning five times — his career-worst — as the Seahawks shut down the Giants 23-0.

ETIII played a major role in that shutout, logging four tackles and a touchdown-saving interception in the end zone in the fourth quarter.

That pick was the crushing blow to New York, which elected to pull Manning after he was robbed by ET. You can see video of the interception by clicking the image below (1:06 mark):

A distraught NYG head coach Tom Coughlin lauded the Seattle defense while left searching for answers for his team’s offensive issues.

“We’re not taking anything away from their defense,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “They’re No. 1 in the league for a reason, they are a good defensive team.

“There’s no excuse for what went on out there. We kept turning the ball over, and put our defense back out there over and over and over again.”

With the win, Seattle held on to the NFL’s best record, 12-2. Going forward, Earl identified the mentality showed against the Giants will be the key to making a long playoff run:

“You saw what happened [Sunday]. We need to keep this same mentality, because when we’re [angry] like this, we’re hard to beat. We did a lot of things right today and really disguised our coverage.”
