Coming off a momentous win over San Francisco, Seattle continued its display of unrelenting defense Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

No game-winning strips or touchdown-saving interceptions were needed this time from Earl Thomas, who recorded seven tackles as the Seahawks smashed the Jaguars, 45-17.

Afterward, head coach Pete Carroll was thrilled that his team left no room for a letdown.

“I was fired up we played just the way we should,” Carroll said. “A lot of people expected and asked questions about letdowns and all that type of stuff, and we didn’t see it that way at all.”

The Seahawks methodically built a 31-0 lead by the third quarter, and pulled starting quarterback Russell Wilson.

As the Hawks let up, the Jags reached the end zone a few times. Jacksonville tallied just 265 total yards in the defeat.
