Since high school, I’ve only played football for two men, Pete Carroll and my college coach, Mack Brown. Monday was the last game in Coach Brown’s career at Texas, and as he retires, I want to share some of the respect I have for him.
Mack Brown gave me my first shot to even step on the grass out of high school. Without that opportunity he gave me, I wouldn’t be sitting here in the position I’m in. So I definitely appreciate him for giving me that chance. I’m grateful for that. Anytime you get an opportunity, you have to be thankful, and he was the guy who gave me the opportunity to start a career.
More than that, Mack Brown is a great guy. He could’ve run for President and still could and he would make some noise. That’s how much everybody in Texas loves him.
It’s going to be weird to see somebody other than him leading the Longhorns out there next year. Texas Football is such a great tradition and part of that tradition is Mack Brown. It’s going to be different without him there. He brought us up from losing ways to winning ways. He left his fingerprints all over that place.
That is so true. Growing up watching only Mack is going to be tough for me too bro. He still have it its just too drama to keep these none fans happy. Its a hit and miss recruiting life. You make great decisions but its the player who must grasp the moment. Like my cousin Chris Whaley. He wants to play and help no matter where you place us. We shall find some way to overcome diversity. Patience is key which some of our fans doesn’t have. Reporting from College Station,Tx homie im out.Lol
Well said!!! Hook ‘Em!!!!
I’ an Aggie fan but I will NEVER forget what MACK did during the Bonfire Accident. He is nothing but CLASS and will be missed by all NCAA football!
Love your website dude. Wish your old coach could have gone out with a W. Earl…can you expand on your 1st year as a Seahawk? You took control right away but how much impact did PC have on your approach? And lawyer milloy as well?
