On Sunday, the Seahawks faced the top team in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles were favored and on a nine game winning streak, but the Seahawks didn’t let that discourage them.

“I felt like everybody was sleeping on us and nobody expected us to win this game,” Seattle linebacker Bobby Wagner said. “But we expected to win this game. This is not a surprise to us.”

With a powerful offense led by Russell Wilson and a strong defense led by Earl Thomas, the Seahawks were able to overcome all doubt and beat the Eagles. The Seahawks defense was the first this season to hold the Eagles under 20 points. With Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor hurt, Earl Thomas and the rest of the Seattle secondary really had to step up their game, and that is exactly what they did.

“The thing about it is, when you come out here and put a great performance together, a dominant performance like that, it shows it doesn’t matter who we got out there,” Earl Thomas said.  “We’re very prepared, we’ve got great coaching, and we hold each other to a high standard and we’re getting it done.”

The Seahawks defense is full of strong players and they were all ready to play on Sunday. With three sacks, one interception and only 10 points allowed, the defense stepped up to the challenge of the highest scoring offense in the league. There should no longer be any doubt about whether the Seahawks defense will survive without their three injured Pro Bowlers. No matter what the circumstances are, the Seahawks can step it up and perform against any team in the NFL.
