When building the perfect NFL roster, there’s only one man who could rightfully hold the free safety spot: Earl Thomas III.

ESPN’s Bill Barnwell set out to build the best possible NFL roster while remaining under the $167 million salary cap, featuring many of the league’s best—Tom Brady at quarterback throwing to Rob Gronkowski and Odell Beckham Jr., J.J. Watt rushing from the edge with Aaron Donald in the middle—all with ET III protecting Area 29.

“If anybody manages to sneak behind the second level, Earl Thomas should be able to erase them from center field, where he’s the most impactful and irreplaceable defensive back in all of football,” Barnwell wrote.
